Last updated on NOVEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Management Cloud - Version N/A to N/A [Release 1.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Management Cloud (OMC), Creating an alert for native metrics works, while creating an alert for custom metrics it doesn't work.

For Example:
1. Creating an alert for following metric works,

Native Metrics: entityType=HostLinux, entityName=hostname, metric=CPUUtilization, metricGroup=CPU

2. Creating an alert for following custom metric does not work,

Custom Metrics: entityType=M9_TYPE, entityName=<EntityName>, metric=G91

For the custom metrics defined widget and alert DOES NOT SENT email when the condition occurs.

Following is the Payload (sample json) being used:

POST request

URL:
https://<Cloud Hostname>/serviceapi/entityModel/uds/metrics?async=false

Payload:
[{
"entityType": "W20EntityType",
"entityName": "<EntityName>",
"collectionTime": "2019-10-01T12:35:57.342Z",
"metric": "Capacity",
"value": 10
}, {
"entityType": "W20EntityType",
"entityName": "<EntityName>",
"collectionTime": "2019-10-01T12:35:57.342Z",
"metric": "Capacity",
"value": 20
}
]
