HugePages Not Getting Allocated Correctly After Server Reboot (Doc ID 2610185.1)

Symptoms

n /etc/sysctl.conf file, we have "vm.nr_hugepages = 16903"

Output after server is started and the database won't start up due to error ORA-27137:


[root@dbjde63prd etc]# grep Huge /proc/meminfo 
AnonHugePages: 0 kB 
HugePages_Total: 5846 
HugePages_Free: 5846 
HugePages_Rsvd: 0 
HugePages_Surp: 0 
Hugepagesize: 2048 kB 

Output after running "sysctl -p":


[root@dbjde63prd etc]# grep Huge /proc/meminfo 
AnonHugePages: 0 kB 
HugePages_Total: 16903 
HugePages_Free: 16903 
HugePages_Rsvd: 0 
HugePages_Surp: 0 
Hugepagesize: 2048 kB 

then we can start the database up successfully.
