Creating a Text Type, Workflow, Business Process Record With an Attachment From Within the Document Manager (DM) Results in Duplicate Files in the DM (Doc ID 2614508.1)

Symptoms

On Unifier : Version 19.6

When creating a Text type, Workflow, Business Process (BP) record from within the Document Manager (DM).

Expected Result

The record should be created with the file that was selected in the DM and the file should remain as is in the DM.

Actual Result

The record that is being created does not seem to have the file attached to it and the file is duplicated in the DM.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to some space in the Documents node of some Document Manager and either; a) select some file that is not linked to a BP, or b) upload a file and select it.
  2. Click on; Create > Business Process, select the Text type BP.
  3. Populate the Title and click on the Text Entry tab.
  4. Notice that there is no indicator that the file has been attached to the record.
  5. Click the down arrow next to the paperclip icon and browse/select the file again and notice the following Alert that pops up: Files with duplicate names will not be attached. You can
    manually select the correct files.
  6. Close the Alert and notice that there is still no indicator that a file has been attached to the record.
  7. Send the record.
  8. Refresh the DM's view and find that the file that was selected when creating the record is now duplicated.

The defect here is that the user does not see that the file is automatically being attached to the Text Entry portion of record because an icon of it is not initially showing up where the attachment would be found. Because of this they don't think that the file has been added to the record and they click on the down arrow next to the paperclip icon and try to add the file that was previously selected when the BP record was created.

Also notice that when one of the duplicate instances is selected in the log all the duplicate instances are selected. There does not seem to be a way to remove these duplicate entries.

Business Impact

Because of this the file that is selected in the DM is duplicated each time.
