Union Field Not Updated After Position Change (Doc ID 2621081.1)

When using position synchronization, the Union field is enabled. If changing position of an employee the union field is not updated when the new position doesn't have Union defined. Instead it maintains the value of the previous position. Is this expected behaviour?
