SSPL Search Not Working Properly When The SSPL Has A Filter Condition (Doc ID 2622395.1)

In a configuration single select pick list (SSPL) that has a condition applied, if a value is already selected for a field, trying to search for a new value will not work properly. First you have to select an empty value (clearing the text in the cell does not work), then you can type in to search through the list.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a SSPL and add a filter condition on it
  2. Add it to the legacy layout
  3. Select a value and click outside the SSPL
  4. Try to delete the text in the cell and type in to filter the results
