Lead Phone Numbers are not getting copied to Contact during conversion if Country Code is not Provided (Doc ID 2622738.1)

Symptoms

 During the Lead conversion when a Contact is created the Phone Number on Lead is not getting copied to the newly created Contact.
Noticed that it gets copied only if Country Code is selected which earlier was not required.
