OCI : OL6 to OL7 Upgrade Of Instances Using UEFI Fails During Pre-check (Doc ID 2629708.1)

Symptoms

 As part of the upgrade process from Oracle Linux 6 to Oracle Linux 7, the pre-check process fails with the following message:

Description The module checks for EFI and it forbids an in-place upgrade when the EFI boot loader is present.
Logs
preupg.risk.EXTREME: The EFI boot loader was detected. An in-place upgrade is not possible.
Remediation description: Systems using the EFI boot loader cannot be in-place upgraded now.
