Symptoms

Create Accounting program is finishing with error for a Sales Tax subledger journal.

Error Message
Subledger Accounting was unable to retrieve a value for the accounting flexfield account rule.
Cause: GL account cannot be derived by account rule.
Action: Review the account rule definition and the extract source values, if applicable, for the event and make sure a valid GL account can be derived for the subledger journal entry.

or

The accounting date <Date> isn't in an open or a future enter-able period.
Details: Accounting date must be in an open or future period.



STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigation: Tools Scheduled Processes
2. Schedule New Process > Create Accounting
3. Provide the parameters > [B] Submit
