ERROR: Exporting Marketing Activity Data Using the SFDC Integration App - "Error while transforming the mapping" (Doc ID 2638450.1)

Symptoms

An error occurs with the Activity Export synchs in the Salesforce (SFDC) integration app (under Settings > Apps > Salesforce.com Integration App > Marketing Activities > select the failing export > click the synch that is failing > select View Reporting).

The error format will depend on the source and target fields in the integration setup for the export, but will be similar to:

Error Transforming Record #########: Error while transforming the mapping Mapping [source=[Eloqua Source Filed], target=[SFDC Target Filed]: [SFDC Target Filed].[Eloqua Source Filed] cannot be modified.
