Symptoms


Unable to configure Secure Enterprise Search with WebCenter Portal Cloud Service after migrating from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic (OCI-C) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

When accessing the Tools and Services Search configuration screen the following error is displayed.


ERROR

Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) release 11.1.2.2
 
This WebCenter Portal Server is configured to use Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) release 11.1.2.2 adapter. For best performance and scalability, as well as the latest search features, upgrade to Oracle SES release 11.2.2.2 or later.



STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Migrate from OCI-C to OCI.

  2. Connect to WebCenter Portal as an administrator user.

  3. Go to Administration -> Tools and Services -> Search.
    There you will see the message and would not be able to customize the search service.
