Unable to Log in when Using the OSN Desktop Client from a Machine Running Mac OS (Doc ID 2661343.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Social Network Cloud Service - Version 11.13.19.04.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Users attempting to log into the Oracle Social Network (OSN) Desktop Client on the Mac Operating System are unable to log into accounts that previously worked.

When a user attempts to log into the application the system goes into a loop and blocks them from accessing the OSN Desktop Client functionality.
A force quit or going into task manager to shut down the application is required to stop the loop.

The issue can be seen when following these steps:
1. On a previously working Mac system select and attempt to Open OSN Desktop
2. select profile / attempt to log in.

Changes

The back end URL for the OSN site was modified.
