Last updated on MAY 01, 2020

Applies to:

Big Data Cloud Service - Version 1.0 and later

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

It may be observed that hdfs replication jobs are copying files in  "/user/<SERVICE>/.Trash".

This may happen even if:

1. The ".Trash" folder has been emptied with:

2. Snapshots are not enabled on the '/user/<SERVICE>/.Trash' directory.

For example if "hdfs dfs -expunge" has been executed and snapshots are not enabled on "/user/hue/.Trash" it can be observed that the files in "/user/hue/.Trash" are included in the replication.
