FOLMONTH Retirement Convention Does Not Work Properly For Group/Member Assets (Doc ID 2663160.1)

Last updated on APRIL 30, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Assets Cloud Service - Version 11.13.20.01.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.13.20.01.0 version, Retire Assets

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Retirement on Group Asset with retirement convention of FOLMONTH (Cost is reduced on the Group asset), does not reflect in GL the correct depreciation amount as uses the reduced cost and not the original cost for the group asset. The same test for a a non group asset does uses the depreciation for the original cost.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
It is expected that the group asset and no group asset shows the same behavior when retiring the asset trough cost reduction.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Have a group Asset defined
2. Retire the group asset with cost reduction f.e. from 25000 to 24500
3. The journal lines for the group asset for depreciation uses only the depreciation calculated on the decreased cost (24500) of the group asset, whereas the same transaction on a non group asset uses the total cost to calculate the depreciation.
