Error ZX-885304 - Duplicated Registration Number With Merged Party (Doc ID 2671342.1)

Symptoms

On : 11.13.20.01.0 version, Customer Data


Created a client called XXX then we created a supplier with the same name and then merged the two records into one.
Tried to complete the ‘Registration Number’ (Edit customer -> Tax Profile -> Tax Registrations) for the new client/supplier and the following error was thrown:

"This tax registration number already exists for party type Third party and party name XXX for the same period. (ZX-885304)
Cause You can't use the same tax registration number for different party types and party names for the same period.
Action For this party, you must enter a different tax registration number or enter a different period."

The old client still appears in the HZ_PARTIES table, and in the ZX_PARTY_TAX_PROFILE table has the REP_REGISTRATION_NUMBER filled out but this client doesn’t appear in the ‘Manage Customers’ screen, so can’t change or remove his registration number.

What can we do to solve this issue?

Old client:
Registry ID = 52013
Registration Number = ‘XXX17000126’

New client (after merging):
Registry ID = 52014
Registration Number = ‘XXX17000126 ‘ (customer written this one temporarily with a space at the end, but the correct one should be ‘ESA17000126’)



ERROR

Action For this party, you must enter a different tax registration number or enter a different period.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Created a customer
2. Created a supplier with the same name
3. Merged them into one record
4. Try to complete the ‘Registration Number’ (Edit customer -> Tax Profile -> Tax Registrations) in the new client/supplier

Due to this issue, users cannot complete the ‘Registration Number’ (Edit customer -> Tax Profile -> Tax Registrations) in the new client/supplier
