Getting error 'You must enter a positive amount for the field REVAL_LOSS_BALANCE" when providing Negative Revaluation Reserve

Symptoms
When attempting to adjust an asset through ADFdi spreadsheet to set the revaluation reserve to a negative amount,
the following error occurs.
ERROR
-----------------------
You must enter a positive amount for the field REVAL_LOSS_BALANCE.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. go to Assets -> Tasks panel -> Adjust Assets in Spreadsheet task -> select type Cost and Rules Change -> log into spreadsheet
2. fill in negative amount (ex: -11,00) in the Revaluation Reserve field
3. click on Post
