Purpose
Oracle recognizes that many factors influence an enterprise organization’s move to the cloud. A single cloud provider is not always an option. Oracle has partnered with Microsoft to deliver a tightly integrated, multi-cloud experience for customers. In addition to cross-cloud implementation of Applications Unlimited as outlined herein, customers can also integrate their Azure-based custom applications with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure solutions like Autonomous Database or Exadata Cloud Service.
This note outlines the result of the partnership to also create a reference architecture that splits Oracle Applications Unlimited components between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Microsoft Azure. This cross-cloud solution places the database tier on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with application, middleware, and [optional] directory service (DS) components on Microsoft Azure.
