Goal
By default, EPM Standard Cloud Service and EPM Enterprise Cloud Service environments are deployed with hybrid-enabled Essbase. Some legacy environments are not. Upgrading Essbase in legacy environments to hybrid-enabled Essbase is required in order to:

Support extended dimensionality in existing legacy Financial Consolidation and Close environments

Enable hybrid block storage (BSO) applications in legacy Enterprise Planning and Planning Modules environments
Users will get an option to upgrade their environment to Hybrid to use as many as four custom dimensions.
