[PCA 2.x] Importing an Assembly (.ova) Containing more than Four Virtual Disks Fails with error "OVMRU_005038E" (Doc ID 2690249.1)

Symptoms

Enterprise Manager:

Importing an OVA terminates with the error message "OVMRU_005038E" when it attempts to create a fifth vdisk.

The VM domain type is HVM.

An attempt to make the VM a domain type of HVMPV by editing the ovf component did not resolve the issue.

Error:

  • rename the original .ova file <exported_vm>.orig
  • re-package the ova:
    • tar -cvf <exported_vm>.ova <exported_vm>.ovf *.vmdk
