Missing Element.js File When Trying to Fetch It (Doc ID 2694776.1)

Last updated on JULY 28, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The element.js file is missing when trying to fetch a global widget, for example fia a DCU grab command or when using the getGlobalElementJavascript endpoint.

Steps to reproduce the faulty behavior:

  1. Choose an OOTB global element
  2. Invoke the getGlobalElementJavascript endpoint to get the current JS code for this element.
  3. Invoke the updateGlobalElementJavascript with the exact same code code
  4. Check what assets are listed for publishing. The element.js file is listed as a deleted asset

After a potential and unsuspecting publish operation, the element.js file will be deleted and will not show again when trying to fetch it.
