Problem Updating Dynamic Properties On User Profile With Those Passed Over From The SAML Identity Provider (Doc ID 2699588.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The optionalAttributeToPropertyMap in the samlIdentityProviders has been setup to import attributes from the users account on the SAML Identity Provider (IdP) into the Oracle CX Commerce (OCX) user Profile. Via debugging on the Identity Provider one can verify, that when the user authenticates, those IdP attributes are successfully exported out from the SAML identity Provide. However, when the user successfully logs-in, the properties passed over from the Identity Provider are not being updated on the OCX user Profile.

Changes

The SAML Identity Provider (IdP), defines a set of properties on the users profile (example: Address, phoneNumber, workNumber). To facilitate the SAML integration with OCX, the Administrator has created a set of Dynamic Properties within OCX (example: ocxAddress, ocxPhoneNumber, ocxWorkNumber). Additionally, the Administrator has setup the optionalAttributeToPropertyMap, on the /ccadmin/v1/samlIdentityProviders/default endpoint, with a mapping between IdP properties and the Properties on an OCX user Profile. When the user authenticates the design is that those IdP properties will be exported out, and imported into the corresponding OCX user Profile property
