Why SSEs are Falling after Migration to OCI (Doc ID 2716616.1)

Last updated on MARCH 05, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Cloud Service - Version N/A to N/A
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

 After the OCI migration SSEs are falling with error

"There are no active extension servers. Please contact your system administrator."

Attempts to connect using OCI environment over REST (e.g. POST /ccadmin/v1/serverExtensions) might yield a response such as the following:

{
"errorCode": "100319",
"message": "There are no active extension servers. Please contact your system administrator.",
"status": "500"
}

Attempts to get the SSE log using the URL
/ccadminx/custom/v1/logs?loggingLevel=debug&format=zip

might yield a response such as the following::
{
"errorCode": "00000000",
"message": "There are no active extension servers. Please contact your system administrator.",
"status": "500"
}

or

{
"errorCode": "14000",
"message": "[{\"error\":true,\"message\":\"Request could not be completed.\"},\"\",\"\",{\"error\":true,\"message\":\"Request could not be completed.\"}]",
"status": "500"
}

Or after an SSE is uploaded to the SSE nodes, SSE endpoints can fail with 502/503 errors.

In other cases, SSE also fails due to Custom code uncaught exceptions which consume workers and cause SSE to go down.

Changes

 An OMCS / SLDC environment was migrated to OCI.
