Symptoms

When attempting to validate an item rule, the following error occurs. Rule's aim is to assign categories based on Item Class details.

"A syntax error was reported at line 1 of field name Return Value, correct the error before continuing. (EGO-2745513)"


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create Item Rule for Assignment of Catalog-Category.
2. In the Return Value field enter the value "Catalog[Class].Category[[Item].[Class].[Class_Layer2]]"
3. Click on Validate
4. Error is displayed: "A syntax error was reported at line 1 of field name Return Value, correct the error before continuing. (EGO-2745513)"
