Assigning Roles in Oracle Identity Cloud Service for Blockchain Gen 2 Instance (Doc ID 2727819.1)

Details

 Oracle Blockchain Cloud service Gen 2 User Role name has changed. Anyone who uses or administers Oracle Blockchain Platform must be added in Oracle Identity Cloud Service and granted the correct user role, assign the users who want to admin the Oracle Blockchain Platform(OBP) instance to "ADMIN" role. Details is provided in the document. Step by step action is provided below.

Actions

 To add a user who want to administrate the Oracle Blockchain Platform(OBP) instance, that user need to be added in "ADMIN" role, detail step is provided below.

1. Login to your Oracle Cloud console using below URL:
               https://www.oracle.com/cloud/sign-in.html

2. To access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service(IDCS) Console click on top left hamburger button, then go to:
Identity -> Federation -> OracleIdentityCloudService

Will get the IDCS URL something like below:

Oracle Identity Cloud Service Console: https://idcs-<ID>.identity.oraclecloud.com/ui/v1/adminconsole

 

3. Oracle Identity Cloud Service console will be open by clicking the URL accessed by above set 2, now lick on top left Hamburger button and below screen would appear, as show click on 1. Oracle Cloud Services 2. Find the application it start with the Blockchain instance name, in this screenshot it is bcstest16OCT- [Click on that] 3. Go to "Application Roles" 4. On "ADMIN" row right hamburger button click on "Assign User" 

 

 

Individually need to add user in "ADMIN" role, or else may get below error:
"Unable to log in because the user name you entered doesn't have permission to access the console of this instance. Ask your administrator to grant the proper permission to the user name and try again."
