Unable To Change Prorate Convention During Asset Adjustments

Symptoms
When trying to change the prorate convention for tax asset, system gave the following error:
The amortization date for the prorate convention change is invalid. Enter any date in the period in which the date placed in service of the asset falls.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to Adjust Asset and search for asset
2. Click on Change Financial Details
3. Change the Prorate Convention from XXX-MONTH to YYY-MONTH
4. Submit.
5. Refresh landing page and the adjustment shows as Incomplete with exception error.
