Autonomous Database Link access to Remote Database (OCI /Onpremise) fails with ORA-01017 ORA-02063 (Doc ID 2731310.1)

Symptoms

The database link was created using the steps followed in the Note 2592265.1
The user/password provided for the remote database. The following step is followed to create the credential

execute dbms_cloud.create_credential(credential_name => 'DB1',username => 'remoteuser',password => 'remoteuser');
execute dbms_cloud_admin.drop_database_link(db_link_name => 'LINKDB1');
execute dbms_cloud_admin.create_database_link(db_link_name => 'LINKDB1',hostname => 'X.X.X.X',port => '1522',service_name => 'DB0610_gru167.orldbvcnbrpubli.orldbvcnbr.oraclevcn.com',ssl_server_cert_dn => 'CN=dbcs1',credential_name => 'DB1');

 

select * from dual@LINKDB1;

ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
ORA-02063: preceding line from LINKDB1
01017. 00000 - "invalid username/password; logon denied"
