Oracle Transportation Management Cloud Service - Version 20.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The cache control type on the EDE for hazmat lanes is required to be "No Cache". That results in a performance impact since it does not use Memory/Database cache.
You would like to change the Cache control type setting to "Cache by Xlane Don't Lookup - Don't Save" to enable memory cache for Hazmat lanes.
The documentation for 20a states the following for the glog.ExternalDistanceEngine.useNewEDECache property.
"With this property, OTM will use caches that are EDE/ESE specific (below). With these caches, OTM will reduce the hits on the EDE when Dynamic Attributes (including Length, Width, Height, Weight and HAZMAT) are involved. This property works when set to true (the default is false) and the cache control type is set to "Cache by Xlane Don't Lookup - Don't Save".
You would like to turn memory caching for Hazmat lanes by changing the Cache control type setting to "Cache by Xlane Don't Lookup - Don't Save".
