Symptoms

On any Oracle Cloud hosted instance:

When attempting to reset the password, the following error occurs.

IAM-3042204 : An error occurred while verifying the old user password during change password operation.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. After logging the user is directed update the password.
  2. Once inputting the old password and new password twice and clicking on the Submit button the error outlined above pops up.
