Journal Entry Reserve Ledger Report Issue: Asset with Bonus Depreciation Displayed on Unexpected BSV Company segment
(Doc ID 2753864.1)
Last updated on APRIL 04, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Assets Cloud Service - Version 11.13.20.10.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Assets with bonus depreciation will be displayed twice in the Journal Entry Reserve Ledger (JERL) report, which is expected, since one line represents regular depreciation and the other represents bonus depreciation.
However the two lines will be displayed under different Balancing Segment Value (BSV) segments in the report if the Bonus Depreciation account from category level has a different value in the BSV segment than the Depreciation Expense account from asset distribution level.
With current functionality, one line will take the BSV segment from the Depreciation Expense Account from distribution level and the other line will take the BSV segment from the Bonus Depreciation Expense account from category level.
This is not an ideal functionality, considering that the all the accounting events use the BSV segment from distribution level, including for the Bonus Depreciation Expense Account.
