RDFCS: Workbook Builds Successfully but then Gives Session Expired Error upon Opening (Doc ID 2760904.1)

Symptoms

Opening a workbook returns "Your session has expired. Click OK to log in again" message and logs the user out of the application.

Turning on debug loglevel and retrieving the user session logs using the OAT -> SR Admin -> Package Logs task shows that the rpas_Dyyyymdd.log (in the logpackage_userlogs_yyyymmdd.tar.gz) ends unexpectedly at which time a core is generated and error occurs:
