"Wrong validation for Version field" message when trying to activate a process application (Doc ID 2774668.1)

Symptoms

When trying to activate a project an error is seen showing some issue with the format:

Wrong validation for Version field. Validation should be the following : n0[.n1[.n2[.n3[.n4]]]][-milestone-name[milestone-number]/_patch-number] Where all but 'milestone-name' are numeric, composed of one or more digits (0-9) from 0 up to a maximum value of 99999999.
