Timescale Shows Year 1899 For Custom Date (Doc ID 2777161.1)

Last updated on MAY 18, 2021

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Cloud Service - Version 21.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR:

Timescale shows the Year 1899 for Custom Date.

Whenever we try to change a Timescale value from a relative date (ex DD or PF) to a specific Custom Date, it always starts the custom date selector way back on 22 September 1899.

For example, going into print a layout -- from Page Setup, Options -- if the Timescale Finish is something like DD+3Y, when you try to instead choose Custom Date, the first date the comes up is 22 September 1899. Meaning you'd have to then scroll over a hundred years to catch up to the present day and select your desired Custom Date.

That's just one example. It happens for Timescale Start too. And it happens directly in the Gantt Chart for layouts too, not just print page setup. It happens regardless of DD+X or PF+X or CD+X (or -X, too).

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

The application should display the calendar date correctly when used DD+X or PF+X or CD+X (or -X, too).

STEPS:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open P6 Professional - Open a Project.
2. Go to Activities and go into print a layout -- from Page Setup, Options -- if the Timescale Finish is something like DD+3Y, when you try to instead choose Custom Date, the first date the comes up is 22 September 1899.
