Performance With P6 Professional Application After Cloud Environment Upgrade (Doc ID 2778989.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 19, 2023

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Cloud Service - Version 21.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When users log into P6 Professional via CloudConnect and attempt to open a project (any project), intermittently, the "Loading Data" pop-up can take from 4 to 10 minutes to finish loading.
Other times, "Loading Data" takes only seconds to complete.

In one instance, the following error was received after a "Loading Data" wait time of around 10 minutes:

ERROR

TCVirtualDBEngine.RefreshRowsByKey: table=(WBS), Exception=(Unknown CloudDataType), sql=(Select pw.* from project p, projwbs pw where p.proj_id in ((select distinct tp.pred_proj_id from taskpred tp, projshar ps where tp.pred_proj_id not in (select proj_id from projshar where session_id = XXXXXXX) and tp.proj_id = ps.proj_id and session_id = XXXXXXX) UNION (select distinct tp.proj_id from taskpred tp, projshar ps where tp.proj_id not in (select proj_id from projshar where session_id = XXXXXXX) and pred_proj_id = ps.proj_id and session_id = XXXXXXX)) and p.proj_id = pw.proj_id and orig_proj_id is null order by 1)

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Launch P6 Professional.
2. Click on Projects - Select Projects and Open.
3. Observe when above action is selected, two pop up windows appear.
    A. Loading Data
    B. Running Batch Append Queries
4. Intermittently, observe the application takes a long time during "Loading Data", in such cases, the "Running Batch Append Queries" window does not appear/pop-up.
