Unable to Pass Parameters with Essbase Functions in EPM Automate Commands for Financial Consolidation & Close Cloud Service (FCCS) (Doc ID 2781853.1)

Last updated on JUNE 16, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service - Version 21.05.64 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When trying write a Clear rule in FCCS to remove data for all entities under "Total Geography", this works when invoked from within the FCCS application. However it doesn't work from EPM Automate.

The following explicit entity listings work with no issues in EPM automate.

1. epmautomate runBusinessRule RULE_NAME Period=Jun Scenario=Actual Consolidation="FCCS_Entity Input" Years=FY21 Entity="Entity1"
2. epmautomate runBusinessRule RULE_NAME Period=Jun Scenario=Actual Consolidation="FCCS_Entity Input" Years=FY21 Entity="Entity1,Entity2,Entity3"

However, this generational function does not work.

1. epmautomate runBusinessRule RULE_NAME Period=Jun Scenario=Actual Consolidation="FCCS_Entity Input" Years=FY21 Entity=ILvl0Descendants("FCCS_Total Geography")

When using the generational function in the user interface, the job status shows all the base level entities under Total Geography as having run.
