Symptoms

Search in PIM using UN Number field errors out and behaves differently after removal of the field

We have found below observations while querying items in PIM while having UN Number in search form
1. Error using UN Number with 'is not blank' or 'starts with' search parameter
2. Blank value for UN Number field does not return any query results
3. User has to close and reopen Manage Items page to search the item without UN Number field in search form

ERROR

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to PIM > Manage Items or Browse Items
2. Add field 'UN Number' in the search form
3. Populate Item Number and set UN Number as Start with and populate value like UN%
4. Search
5. Error is thrown that ORA-00902 invalid relational operator

repeat the above steps 1, 2
3. Populate Item Number and set UN Number is not blank
4. Search
5. Error is thrown that ORA-00902 invalid relational operator

repeat the above steps 1,
2. Remove search field UN Number
3. Populate Item Number
4. Search
5. No results are displayed
6. Cannot query with any other search parameters
I need to close this page, reopen and search just with Item Number

Search with UN Number works only when UN Number value is selected from drop down list.
