“Failed to do incremental restore” Error During Migration from OCI-Classic to OCI Using opcmigrate Tooling (Doc ID 2791522.1)

Symptoms

Issue is when performing an OCI-Classic to OCI migration using the opcmigrate tool, the job fails with a status indicating a failure during incremental restore. This indicates that the incremental option is not usable in the specific environment being migrated. To resolve, set the incremental attribute in the job control file to “false” (or remove the incremental attribute from the job file) for the volume.

A migration job indicates “Failed to do incremental restore …” in the status details. See example below:
