System Unable to Fully Boot - Some Filesystems Cannot Be Found During Boot Process
(Doc ID 2793596.1)
Last updated on JULY 27, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The system does not boot successfully because some partitions cannot be found and mounted successfully during boot as observed in the system console.
After restarting the system in maintenance/single user mode, it can be verified that mount -a works fine, so it is not a filesystem or block device issue in this case.
It can also be verified that in /etc/sysctl.conf the parameter vm.nr_hugepages is set to use over 90% of the total system memory.
