ODI OdiOSCommand Fails with ODI-1217 when Processing Large Files (Doc ID 2796587.1)

Symptoms

When running an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) job that downloads files and processes them to prepare them for a mapping, the session fails on the parsing step for large files. The following error is returned in the root of the session tree:

The session still shows that it is running a step, and it stays like this indefinitely. The step executes an OdiOSCommand to run a grep that contains an ODI variable for the filename, which pulls values from the file that are piped to awk to replace text, which is then written to the standard out. The OdiOSCommand is configured to write this output to a file with the "-OUT_FILE" option.
