Invoking POST Operation of REST API Fails with Error "Error 415--Unsupported Media Type" (Doc ID 2798764.1)

Symptoms

When trying to consume REST API end point created at OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) in ODI (Oracle Data Integrator), it fails with error "Error 415--Unsupported Media Type"

The issue occurs while performing the following actions:

  1. Login to ODI Studio and navigate as mentioned below.

         Topology-->Technology-->Restful Service--><Restful Service Data Server>-->Physical schema-->Operations tab-->Select "<NAME>"-->Test Restful Service

  2. Observe the error
