Symptoms
Setting: Configuration > Recruiting Settings > Accept Referrals from Employees for Known Candidates or Submissions is set to No
Expectation: The system should validate if the referred candidate already exists in the system by using the Email address for duplicate validation and prevent the referral of an existing candidate.
Actual behavior: The refer a friend process can be completed on a known candidate.
Steps in the Career Section
Refer a Friend > Accept > Save and Continue
Enter an existing external candidate's email address
Save and Continue > Enter some text
Save and Continue - the referral is created
This seems to only happen on a job specific flow.
