Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Exadata Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64 on Oracle Public Cloud

Goal

Oracle Managed Backups for an Exadata Cloud Service database are enabled through the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Control Plane using the UI or REST API. The Control Plane UI and REST API provide the ability to enable and disable the daily backups, allow for retention window modifications, allow for a keep backup through the "Create Backup Button" and supports restoring the CDB level database for the following scenarios:

The UI/REST API does not support Pluggable Database level backup and restore operations for the Exadata Cloud Service database enabled with Oracle Managed Backups.
This document provides the bkup_api commands for backup and restore use cases for a Pluggable Database that is within an Oracle Managed Backups enabled Container Database.
