Attempting to Create or Update a Project Note Field Using Web Services Is Not Reflected When Viewing the Field in P6 Web (Doc ID 2810059.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When using the Web Services SOAP UI to create or update a Project Note field, although the action appears to be successful the field is not created/updated in P6 Web.  (Adding or modifying a Notebook in the P6 Web application works as expected.)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

if the Project Note field is marked as read-only, the Web Services action should fail with an error indicating this limitation.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create or update a Project Note using the CreateProjectNotes or UpdateProjectNotes Web Services method.
  2. Notice that the Response indicates the action was successful.
  3. In P6 Web, observe that the field has not been created/updated.
