Goal

MySQL Shell's dump instance utility is the fastest "logical" backup method which is officially provided by Oracle. MySQL Enterprise Backup can be the fastest backup utility, but it takes physical backups. The dump instance, and load dump utility was introduced as of MySQL Shell 8.0.21. This document describes how to speed up backup using the dump instance utility. To optimize the dumping performance, so that the dumping speed is faster, or the dump consumes less resources, there are several points to be considered.
