Fusion BIP: Report Created Using Web Service as Data Source Failing With "Failed to Load Webservice" Error (Doc ID 2819486.1)

Symptoms

BI publisher Report and data model are failing with error "Failed to Load Webservice".

Steps to reproduce: 

  1. Create a new external web service data source connection by using 'HTTPS' as Server Protocol. Navigation path: BIP Administration -> Data Sources -> Web Service Connection
  2. Now create a data model and report by using that web service as source of the data. 
  3. Run the report / data model. They will fail with following error "Failed to Load Webservice".

Log shows below error: 

" caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException.    : javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target"

 

 

Changes

 The report has been working fine until the SSL certificates expired on the customer's web service. Customer has installed new SSL certificate.
