Custom Price Range is not Working as Configured

Symptoms
ISSUE STATEMENT
Price range selection is not working only for one criteria (Example - selecting the price range of 1500-2000 fetch results from 1000 as well)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1) Navigate to the URL https://www.xxxxxx.com/home
2) Select any of the Categories configured.
3) Goto Filters and select - PRICE RANGE (Currency) - Select 1,500 - 1,999
The result contains the price range of 1000+ as well.
