How To Verify Email Id Before Sending Reset Password Link Using Custom Sign In Page (Doc ID 2827086.1)

We have a reset password page in Custom Sign In Page and when we enter an email id to request for the reset password link it accepts any email id and says reset password link sent.

What we wanted was to first verify if that email id is registered with the IDCS instance to which we are connecting our custom sign in page.
