Symptoms

On : any version, Technology Management - Reports/Analytics

From client side:

-- SOAP web service calls:<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode><faultstring>java.lang.SecurityException: Failed to log into BI Publisher: invalid username or password.</faultstring></soap:Fault></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

Or

-- in BI UI user can't get into /analytics or catalog and gets HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

This problem may be sporadic/intermittent or may always be there for the user. 




 

Changes

A username or password was changed in one place but not updated in a web service payload

- or -

A definition of a webservice (payload) was migrated from one environment to another without checking that the username and password elements matched the new environment.
