Symptoms
During approval of employment transactions like Add Assignment, Transfer, Hire an Employee, Add Pending Worker, users encounter the following error:
JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.ClassCastException, msg=java.util.HashMap cannot be cast to java.util.LinkedHashMap
The error is thrown in the following scenario:
- Position Synchronization is enabled
- Includes Flex Segment Synchronization
- Approvals are enabled for those employment transactions
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Initiate an employment flow like Hire an Employee, Add Pending Worker, Add Assignment or Transfer
2. Check status of transaction in Transaction Console
3. TAC Diagnostic Log shows the reported error
