ORA-19504 ORA-15041 : Archived log deletion not happening automatically from FRA in OCI VM DB System (Doc ID 2866498.1)

Symptoms

+ Archived logs not getting deleted automatically from FRA with automatic backups configured. Getting below errors in alert log showing +RECO to be full :


Errors in file /u01/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/orcl/ORCL/trace/ORCL_arc2_6511.trc:
ORA-19504: failed to create file "+RECO"
ORA-17502: ksfdcre:4 Failed to create file +RECO
ORA-15041: diskgroup "RECO" space exhausted
ARC2 (PID:6511): Error 19504 Creating archive log file to '+RECO'
ARC2 (PID:6511): Stuck archiver: insufficient local LADs
ARC2 (PID:6511): Stuck archiver condition declared
Some DDE async actions failed or were cancelled

+ lsdg output also shows +RECO disk group to be full :
