Symptoms

When attempting to send a record to the next step the following error occurs and will not close out, which prevents the record from moving to the next step:

ERROR
-----------------------
[Data Element Name] is a required field.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Open the impacted Business Process record.
  2. Attempt to send the record to the next step.
  3. Observe the error dialogue box.
  4. Observe you cannot close out of it to correct the issue and send the record to the next step.
