Symptoms

  1. Create Data Model
  2. Add an Excel based data set.
  3. Go to dataset settings
  4. Click on "Add Element by Expression" to see pop-up
  5. Pull CREDIT_DATE column to the right
  6. Change the Data Type to Date
  7. Click on OK and see the error.

Variable 'G_3.CREDIT_DATE' is not able to return type 8.
